Ruth Bittencourt Lino

“My name is Ruth Bittencourt Lino. I’m 23 and I’m from Brazil. Before I came to Camphill Blair Drummond, I was living in a small touristic city near Brasilia. I finished school five years ago and started a Design course at university, but I didn’t finish and went back to live with my parents, doing social and cultural work within the community.
My parents lived for some years in an anthroposophic community in Brazil and they have always encouraged me to follow the same lifestyle. That is why I’m here now, because of the experience of living in another country, doing a kind of social work in a community which has its roots in anthroposophy.
Here I live in Tourmaline House with other co-workers, and five residents that need us to support them to keep their routines from 7 am till 9 pm. During this time I also join the workshops which are a kind of therapy for the residents. Actually the experience of life in a Camphill Community is really great. You get the chance to know yourself better, to understand your limits, your strengths and your capabilities.
