A be-friender's story

Camphill Blair Drummond is a very happy environment where residents, day pupils and staff integrate. There is a very welcoming feel about the place, there’s always a lot of activity. The residents obviously have a very friendly rapport with each other and the staff have great banter. It’s a great place to bring out people skills.
Being a workshop be-friender I have gained an insight into the various skills the residents and day students have. They all have something to offer and Camphill brings this out. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the workshops and working alongside different personalities.
The minute I walk into Craft I feel welcomed, the residents benefit from a variety of faces. Becoming a Camphill Be-friender in your community is a very worthwhile experience. Not only do you help to enrich the lives of others less fortunate but you also create a whole host of new friends. Volunteering can be as little or as often as you can manage.
