St John’s day

Midsummer’s day is officially fixed not on the solstice (July 21st) but on June 24th which is also the birthday of St. John.
We celebrate with a Midsummer community barbecue. Each house prepares a salad and drinks and we often eat summer pudding for dessert. If the weather is not good we eat indoors creating the ambiance of summer with bowls of fruit and flowers.
