Duncan Roscoe

“Duncan became a day student at first, travelling from home each day to work in the workshops and spending his lunch break in one of the houses where he could make friends with the other students and co-workers. Duncan was a very anxious young man who found it very difficult to socialise. He stretched the workshop leaders’ creativity thinking up ways to get him through the door of the workshop each day but gradually, with inordinate patience on behalf of the staff, Duncan did begin to be more co-operative and communicative.” – Mrs Roscoe

“When I bring David back to Blair Drummond after a couple of days at home, he gets a wonderful welcome from the others in his house. Leanne comes up with a big smile on her face and gives him a hug. Once, he was a little unhappy about me leaving and she jumped on to the sofa next to him, bouncing up and down, making him laugh.”

Zoe’ s Story
